Hello friends,
It is now more than 2 years that have elapsed, the script for Kashmiri language was posted in my blog. I am sure some of us must have picked up the script to the desired extent by now.
How this script can actually be put to use with ease and comfort? To demonstrate this fact I have written five short stories with my own hand in this script and I am posting here to fore these stories in this blog.
This five stories are :-
1. Lallishwari(Lalded).
Some less known facts about her Holiness Padmanwati of Padampur(Later Padmanpur and now Pampur), Kashmir. Some young Kashmiri zealots are presently trying to mold the Lalwakhs in an indiscriminate manner. My personal appeal to such persons is that before arriving at some certainties, they should first re-discover the Kashmiri language that was prevailing during the time of Lallishwari. Some instances have been quoted in this story.
2. Khichdi Amavasya.
This ritual falling on the nil moon day of the lunar posh month, is even now performed with same sanctity and fervor by all Kashmiri Pandits wherever they are. The origin of this historical event is in complete oblivion. In this story I have brought to limelight all the facts about this big big event which occurred some 4500 years back in our Kashmir Valley.
3. Shankar Kana(One-Eyed)
This is a true story about an event which occurred towards the fag end of 19th century AD in Srinagar city of Kashmir. How difficult it is to low the inside of a human being is best depicted in this story. Even the realized soul of a true sanyasi could not read the mind of Shankara, the main character of this story.
4. Who is to blame?
The fourth story in this series is entitled "Kas chhu takhsir" meaning "Who is to blame". This story throws some light on how we Kashmiri Pandits committed follies from time to time during the past seven centuries. How true is a saying that "Positive men are often in error"?
5. Dil Log Hilly Peth
The 5th one is based on a true story of a downtown locality of Srinagar during the year around 1860 AD. This is an unsuccessful love story of a Kashmiri Pandit boy and a Muslim girl that ultimately ruined his family.
Wait for the next post for the full stories in Kashmiri script.
Thank you!!!
